W. Fran Astorga (they/them) is a San Francisco–based queer Latine artist, playwright, performer, and dramaturg. Raised between the ancestral lands of the Tepehuan in Durango, México and the farming towns of California, Fran’s work is shaped by the dualities of migration, memory, and resilience. Their creative practice centers communal well-being and the power of stories to restore, resist, and reimagine. Whether writing, performing, or producing, Fran uplifts narratives that challenge erasure and celebrate joy—especially for queer, bilingual, and working-class communities. Their work blends physical comedy, multilingual text, and experimental form to call us into deeper relationship with land, labor, and one another. They are a co-founder of IN THE MARGIN and currently serve as Conservatory Manager at American Conservatory Theater.

This space stumbles, sings, and side-eyes the void. Come laugh with the sacred and the strange—your joy is the punchline.
